Major laying effort
for Viennese
district project
In the 12th district of Meidling in Vienna, a residential building complex for 246 residential units and 2000 m2 of office space as well as 700 m2 of retail space is being built by Swietelsky on behalf of the Heimbau company. This corresponds to about a quarter of the entire district project.
In this complex project, the challenge for BEST is the very large construction volume with a calibre distribution with a lot of thin reinforcing steel. This means the provision of high personnel capacities, as the laying work is more complex with thin calibres.
In the process, more than 2500 linear metres are also laid for loggias. Here, the degree of reinforcement is also very high, the stirrups are tightly structured and also have to be woven into thermal elements - so-called iso-cages.
Finally, as often the case in the capital, the space conditions proved particularly difficult. There were few storage spaces and open areas available. This also resulted in considerable extra work due to the transport of the iron from the unloading site to the installation site.
Despite these challenging circumstances, the project was completed to full satisfaction by qualified installation crews and the leadership of the BEST installation manager.
