SWIETELSKY TUNNELBAU
During the Karawanken Tunnel project, BEST originally was only commissioned to reinforce the intermediate ceiling. Later on, BEST was also entrusted with laying the reinforcement of the intersection blocks. This extension was granted due to the speed our experts were able to complete their task.
After solving difficulties with the first two intersection blocks, the BEST group was entrusted with laying the remaining blocks. The acceptance of the first completed intersection block was done without any complaints after seven days.
The coordination with formwork teams and concrete workers was challenging due to the necessary close collaboration within tight timeframes. However, this was particularly successful in this case. The BEST layers worked at night so that concrete could be poured in the morning.
The frame used here across the tunnel axis for a suspended reinforcement structure requires very precise work. In addition, there is no rebar trolley on which the iron could be stored for a short time. The bars have to be lifted in small bundles with scissor lifts.
BEST Group contributed significantly to the smooth running of the project in addition to the work on the intermediate ceiling, for which the single-axis mats and welded elements of BEST were advantageous.
