Cutting, bending, delivering and laying in a tight time and space constraint
Good cooperation with the competent construction management made it possible to meet the tight schedule of the client. The complex basement was constructed using a cover construction method, which demanded a lot from the laying teams and their coordination.
In the heart of the 10th district of Vienna, next to the pedestrian zone of Favoritenstraße, a new residential and office building was built in 2019 and 2020. Due to its location in the inner-city area, the installation teams contracted and coordinated by BEST had to cope with very limited space availability.
The management of material logistics was further complicated by the cover construction method. With this method, the basement is built from top to bottom. First, piles are drilled and a ceiling with an access opening is concreted. Then, excavation proceeds downward. Materials and machinery can only be lowered through the opening.
