Chip plant
7850 Tons

Extensive tonnage in a very short time

BEST was involved in the expansion of Infineon's site in Villach in 2019 and 2020 and was responsible for the reinforcement of the new chip factory. Up to 1000 tons of reinforcement had to be delivered and installed in a month.

This meant that BEST had to lead and coordinate a significant personnel deployment almost 300 km away from the headquarters in Upper Austria. Cutting, bending, prefabricating, delivering, and laying had to be done within a tight schedule. The floor slabs were heavily reinforced, requiring high bending accuracy. Columns were prefabricated in the factory and installed on the construction site.

The local spatial conditions presented a special challenge because the large tonnages of reinforcement steel had to be optimally stored for rapid installation. The right steel had to be on the construction site with enough lead time to perform the installation, with up to 70 workers simultaneously on the site. In the background, auxiliary and consumable logistics had to work smoothly, and there had to be sufficient parking spaces and accommodations for the personnel.

For this project, BEST's production, supported by their work preparation and scheduling, was in full swing. The work in administration and reporting at BEST also went hand in hand with the work on the construction site, supporting a successful project completion.
